KARL LAGERFELD MELISSA COLLABERATION.

The day we have all been waiting for has arrived! Karl Lagerfeld has unveiled a preview of his collaberation with plastic shoe brand Melissa. The collection consists of 4 pieces, and is the first in a series of ranges to be released over the next 4 seasons.

The collection is inspired by Melissa's native country, Brazil with one of the designs created in colours of the Brazilian flag.

Karl says "The fact that I will discover something I know little about, that is the most exciting part of this cobranding, It's not the first time I've done shoes. I design footwear the same way I design clothes - with a feeling I express in my design. I had never worked with plastic in this way before, it's not the classic technique. I am used to working with more traditional techniques for Fendi, Chanel and Lagerfeld shoes."

Melissa renowned for its colourful plastic jelly shoes has previously teamed up with Vivienne Westwood, Jean Paul Gaultier and model Alessandra Ambrosio. Paul Pedo, CEO of Melissa, described the partnership as "one of the most exciting collaborations the company has ever seen".

I do j'adore! The ice cream heeled ones are my favourites, they make me weak at the knees! I cannot wait to see the real thing!!

XO
